If you're looking for a business hotel or studio apartment right smack in the middle of downtown Chicago, then you're in for a treat at The River Hotel.
As their name implies, The River Hotel is located right in front of the Chicago River. It's situated at 75 East Wacker Drive, just by the corner of Michigan Avenue and Magnificent Mile. Millenium Park is nearby; it's around 10 minutes away by foot. Its strategic location allowed us to enjoy the beautiful downtown scenery, magnificent city architecture, and the refreshing feel of the calm and clean river. It allowed us to experience more of the city in a very limited time!

We had the Single/Small Room, which was, true to its name, small and basic. It's perfect for 1-2 guests. It has a comfortable queen-sized bed, a flat-screen LCD TV, and a clean restroom. A work station is poised by the corner for late-night cramming or early morning reviews.
Amenities also include free WiFi, iPod docking stations, Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, and complimentary coffee and tea.
Near the hotel's lobby is a comfortable lounge area. On the 2nd floor, you'll find the hotel's Multi Functional Meeting and Work Place.
They also house Bella Bacino's Restaurant, an Italian restaurant that also serves Chicago's famous deep dish pizza. We had our breakfast here - gorgeous servings of scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes and that perfectly warm cup of cappuccino.

Overall, the River Hotel served us well in our short stay in Chicago. It's practical, convenient, and strategic - just the way business-travel trips should be.
