How to Commute to White Beach in Puerto Galera

Below is a helpful travel guide on how to go to White Beach, Puerto Galera by public transportation. Let us keep this short and informative for your hassle-free planning.

1. Go to the Araneta Bus Terminal in Cubao.
  • At the old Rustan's building
  • Beside Ali Mall and at the back of Shopwise
  • Walking distance from SM Cubao, Cubao Expo and Gateway Mall

2. Board the air-conditioned Alps Bus headed to Batangas Port.
  • The bus is available from 4AM-7PM with departure intervals of 30-45 minutes.
  • It costs PHP 175 per person (one way).
  • It is located in Lane 24.
  • Travel time is around 2 hours - 2 hours and 30 minutes

3. Upon reaching Batangas Port, head to Terminal 3. This is where you should buy tickets to White Beach (or Sabang Beach, or wherever you are headed to Puerto Galera).
  • Tickets cost PHP 500 per person (two way). It is standard amongst all boat operators.
  • You have to pay additional PHP 30 and PHP 50 for the Terminal Fee and Environmental Fee, respectively.
  • Do not hesitate to haggle. If you are traveling as a group, other boat operators can give you discounts (eg: for a group of 8 people, other boat operators can give you free tickets for 2 people).
  • The boats are basically available throughout the whole day (until 3PM or 4PM if I am not mistaken).
  • If you want to use the restrooms, use the ones inside the terminal. They are cleaner (!!) compared to the ones outside.
  • There are food stalls (and even Red Ribbon!) inside the terminal. You may want to catch a quick bite here before proceeding to Puerto Galera.
  • Travel time to White Beach is around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

4. Upon reaching White Beach, make sure to confirm your scheduled trip back to Terminal 3.
  • This is a must. They won't reserve a space for you if you do not confirm your reservation.
  • As for the time of departure, the boat operator will inform you upon your reservation.
Departure time at White Beach. Processing is fast, don't worry.

As for the way back to Manila, do not fret as there are a multitude of buses waiting at Batangas Port. There are also private vans for rent which costs PHP 3,000 - PHP 3,500.

These data are gathered as of May / June 2013.

I hope this helps. Enjoy Puerto Galera!
