Aozora: Japanese Restaurant in Tagaytay

When tourists search for a restaurant to eat at in Tagaytay, they consider 2 basic things – the availability of hot and filling bulalo, and the breathtaking view of Taal Volcano. Of course, we cannot argue that these indeed put Tagaytay on the map, and stirred people from nearby towns to keep coming back.

But what about those craving for Japanese food? It seems unlikely for Japanese restaurants to populate the province. Do people look for Japanese food when in Tagaytay? Are there even any Japanese restaurants in Tagaytay?

Luckily, for Japanese aficionados, there is. We found a restaurant called Aozora (Blue Sky) Japanese Restaurant + Bistro. They serve authentic, fresh Japanese food and drinks in a clean, zen set-up. Best of all, they have everything you could ever look for in Tagaytay – ramen bulalo and the stunning view of Taal.

Yes, the famous Tagaytay bulalo in Aozora is infused with the flavors of ramen, a Japanese favorite!

It was rainy and foggy when we visited the restaurant, so we weren't able to take photos of the Aozora's beautiful and classy outdoor landscape. Nonetheless, the view of Taal Volcano and the greenery surrounding it took us aback. It was stunning!!!

The food delighted us as well! My personal favorites are the Dragon Maki and the Sukiyaki.

Aside from these, the following dishes did not fail to disappoint:

Aozora Salad (with fried kani)

Tuna Avocado Salad (Seasonal)

Mixed Seafood Teppanyaki

Couple these dishes with the elegant ambiance and dining set-up of Aozora, and you're all set for a memorable and unique Japanese dining experience in the heart of Tagaytay City.

Aozora Japanese Cafe + Bistro is open daily from 9:00am to 10:00pm. It is located at the beautiful and elegant Domicillo Hotel (along the scenic ridge), km 58 Gen. E. Aguinaldo Highway, Tagaytay City, Cavite 2418. For reservations or advance orders, kindly call 09155038800 or 09063501704.
